Recently I had the opportunity to pick the brains of a 15 women with successful online businesses.
Each of them are earning a very good full time income, many of them on a part time basis, working from home.
So many women struggle when they launch an online business. It’s not that difficult to earn a few
dollars with a website, but getting to the full time money seems out of reach for so many. Why do
so few meet their income goals? What’s missing?
Keep the Big Picture in Mind
Gymnasts and coaches often fail to see the big gymnastics picture. Gymnasts are in the midst of a gymnastics career. This particular practice, meet or competition year are of only limited importance in a gymnast’s long career in the sport. All goals, decisions and even reactions should be undertaken with this long-term view in mind. . The right decision from only the immediate point of view could be a drastically wrong decision for accomplishing overall long-term goals and objectives.
Repeat After Me
Actions speak louder than words. It’s a simple statement that gets right to the core of this leadership trait: leading by example. Employees take their lead naturally from what their leaders are doing. Actions often outweigh the words communicated particularly when they are incongruous. In order to lead by example a leader must clearly understand his/her own values and beliefs. They must be clear on what they stand for. This really speaks to the leader’s character. Character is built on values, beliefs, and attitude to name just a few. The tone of the organization’s culture and the values embodied by the organization are set by the character of the leader.
