Costa Rica is a resort country with a total of 74 resorts located on its territory. Lush greenery, mountains and ocean – that’s what you should come here for. The country’s main attractions are: national resorts, mountains and underwater caves, waterfalls, picturesque valleys and volcanoes. More than 25% of the country’s territory are occupied by government-protected natural parks.
Think of the Outer Banks and recreation, and the more obvious water sports come to mind. Anybody planning a vacation to the shores of North Carolina, be it Dare or Currituck County, is likely looking forward to days of relaxing in the sun, surfing, fishing, and coasting the waves on a jet ski. Newer visitors to the Currituck Outer Banks may be surprised to know, however, that an alternative recreational activity awaits them at Maple Skate Park.
We moved to Florida when I was only 5, many, many years ago, before it became wall to wall houses, condos and shopping centers. But, about the seashells, moving there from Pennsylvania, the beach appeared to be a wondrous thing, and my parents took us there at least once a week, normally more often that that. At first we would take a few seashells home, but they were in such abundance that eventually we just walked by them, or picked them up, admired them and put them down. During the winter months, you would see tourists, who really knew nothing about seashells, combing the beaches for their bag of shells to take home to the frozen north, so they could remember their sunny vacation in Florida. Looking back all those years, I wish I had spent a few minutes each time we went to the beach to find only 1 or 2 of the best shells to save, but I didn’t.
The Alaskan cruise is often overlooked when shopping for a cruise. Most people consider a warm destination first. Some popular ones are the Mexican Riviera, the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas. The itinerary is also an important factor to account for. These cruises can be quite a treat for first-time cruisers.
However, for regular cruise aficionados, they might be hunting for an idea of a cruise that is a little different from the usual destinations previously mentioned. If the itinerary is still the same although they are sailing with different cruise line, the element of uniqueness and excitement is not present in their cruise vacation.

There is nothing more enjoyable than being out on the water on a course of your own whim. Cruise ships are locked into specific routes months in advance. - And even if you sit at the captains table every night, you will probably not be successful at convincing him to steer an alternate course to satisfy your curious desires. Sight seeing and tour boats are usually the same kind of deal. If there are lots of other people, your desires just don’t count for much. However, charter your own vessel, and suddenly you are in control of your vacation destiny!
